Run Carabao is a Philadelphia-area project led by singer and multi-instrumentalist Isaac Jabola-Carolus, who was born in Glendale, California and is biracial Filipinx American. In a series of singles leading up to a debut LP, Jabola-Carolus collaborates with producer Samuel Nobles, paying homage to West Coast folk-rock while transcending those influences and reflecting a longer personal journey.

In his teens, Isaac wrote and performed with the band Dick Nixon & the Scandals, including a record produced and engineered by Grammy-winner Jim Scott. Music took a back seat after Isaac left California for college and went on to pursue a PhD in sociology. He returned to songwriting in 2019 and began crafting songs that would become Run Carabao.
